Swingset!!
I have wanted a swingset for Joey for quite awhile now, but Harold until recently said no - not without a fence. Well we finally got a fence at the end of February so of course the next step was a swingset!! I researched EVERYTHING out the wazoo like I do for everything and came up with the Manchester II 6-leg swingset by Playsafe from Toys R Us. (link here) It was (barely) in our price our price range when it went on sale for $200. It was the ONLY metal set I found that came HIGHLY recommended and didn't have any negative reviews. Toys R Us didn't sell it in stores and they were the only retailer that had it so we had to order it online through them. With $150 shipping added to the final price, I questioned the sanity of it versus just buying a set through walmart, but having seen what happens to those sets in our neighborhood (rust, broken, bent, torn up....), I went ahead an ordered the powder coated massive thing that now sits in our back yard.
The set came partly pre-assembled (with screws, nuts, and bolts already in their appropriate holes), and all you had to do was follow a very well laid out, very well detailed instruction manual. Harold, having considered all of this, blew off the 67 reviews that said it took about 6 - 8 hours to put together and confidently exclaimed several times it would only take two hours or so. Having blown off lunch, it took Daddy and Harold an easy 8 hours. Course, that included mom and I making a trip to KMart to get a level and the men hitting Lowes for concrete. In the end, the weather held out and we now have a GREAT swingset the kids seem to enjoy:
